Overcoming our Worst Winter in a Long Time

Shorts Truegrit are more than just a winter gritting service. We monitor national weather conditions, notifying you of potential hazards in your area so that we can action a plan to grit your site or clear away the snow before your staff or customers arrive.

Shorts Truegrit held their own over the worst winter in years. Dominic Robertson, Shorts Truegrit's Operations Director said:

"I suppose we were due a hard winter and that is exactly what we got. It is a known fact that if we have a really bad winter with a prolonged period of snow, it creates a big draw on gritting salt and demand eventually outstrips supply. That is exactly what happened with councils, highway authorities and private gritting businesses running out of salt. Because of forward planning and having a superb gritting salt supplier we did not run out of salt but in was close!"
